Downtown Ahoskie Social District

The Town of Ahoskie is so pleased to announce that we have recently added a Social District to our downtown. A Social district is a defined outdoor area where alcoholic beverages, sold by an establishment licensed for the sale of alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption, may be consumed. A few current cities and towns in North Carolina that have social districts are Newton, Charlotte, Mooresville, Kannapolis, Greensboro, Monroe, Norwood, Madison, Selma, Raleigh, Oxford, Greenville, Huntersville and Wilson, among others.

Our Ahoskie social district was approved and implemented to enhance our downtown, encourage more downtown outdoor events and entertainment, and promote business development. This social district is NOT designed to promote alcoholism or increase crime. Our vision for this social district is that our mature residents can have a place to socialize, unwind, relax, and enjoy being in our downtown Ahoskie Social District.
